Concrete Reinstatement Project – 100sqm Repaired and Strengthened with C35 Mix and Twin Mesh

This recent project involved the full breakout and reinstatement of 100 square metres of damaged concrete flooring, completed on-site by our experienced civils team.

Breaking Out the Damaged Slab

The job began with the careful removal of the existing concrete slab. Using heavy-duty breakers and appropriate dust control measures, our team cleared the entire 100sqm area, ensuring all loose and defective material was safely removed from site.

This phase also included removing any damaged ironwork, such as failed gulleys and drain covers, which were marked for full replacement later in the project.

Reinforcement and Reinstatement with C35 Concrete

With the sub-base cleared and compacted, we installed two layers of steel mesh reinforcement – a critical feature for industrial settings where forklift traffic, plant movement and vibration are a daily reality.

We then poured high-strength C35-grade concrete, ensuring the slab meets structural and durability requirements. Edges were tied in where needed, and finishing was completed to a high tolerance to suit the site’s operational needs.

Ironwork Replacement and Finishing Touches

As part of the reinstatement, all associated ironwork was replaced. This included access covers, gulleys and associated fittings – giving the site a clean, level and fully operational finish.

Our work was completed efficiently with minimal disruption to the client’s working day – a key part of why clients return to FME for reactive and planned civils projects alike.
